50% Research Assistant (UoB):

The brain tumour research grouping at the University of Birmingham is a multi-investigator collaborative based across the College of Medical and Dental Sciences. It includes Professors Colin Watts, Daniel Tennant, Matthew Coleman, Andrew Beggs, Jason Parsons and Dr Victoria Wykes. This post is central to the BRAIN STAT (Brain Surgical Tissue for Advanced Tumour models) tissue collection and tissue model derivation pipeline within the brain tumour research grouping at the University of Birmingham. It will catalyse research across the grouping by facilitating sample collection, storage and maintenance of accurate records. Additionally, the post will create a bank of tissue samples and novel models of brain tumours available to all members of the grouping.

50% Physicians Associate Neurosurgery (UHB):

The Physician Associate role works in support of the clinical team providing care across the whole spectrum of patients being treated within the neurosurgery clinical service. They will work under the direction of the supervising Consultant, working collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary clinical team within the Trust’s policies and clinical guidelines. The job will principally be directed towards clinical and medical support in all areas of the service provision, including both in and out-patients. The post holder will hold a science related degree prior to graduating from an a accredited Physician Assistant training programme, certified by the National Commission on Certification for Physicians Associated ( NCCPA)
