Daniel Horrocks

Dan Horrocks was born and raised in the West Midlands. At the age of 20, he was blue-lighted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for emergency brain surgery, where he was diagnosed with an ependymoma, a rare form of brain cancer.

Since 2011, Dan has undergone four further surgeries and treatment for tumours that have developed elsewhere in his brain. Alongside his professional life, he has been active in raising awareness of brain cancer and is currently involved in Brain Cancer Justice, a campaign group working to turn brain cancer from a terminal diagnosis into a treatable condition.

Dan works as a Senior Parliamentary Assistant in the House of Commons. His lived experience and parliamentary background give him a valuable perspective on the need for greater awareness, research and improved outcomes for people affected by brain cancer.
